SAN filament - is a rather new material for 3D printing. It is a high transparency filament, which does not lose its properties even after 3D printing, resistant to mechanic damage and a good dielectric.
SAN – styrene-acrylonitrile, is a copolymer plastic consisting of styrene and acrylonitrile. SAN is a scratch-resistant plastic, which has a fairly strong resistance to various chemicals, it is lightweight and at the same time rigid, has excellent insulating properties and is distinguished by its transparency.

SAN filament features
SAN filament is an excellent replacement for standard ABS filament. But at the same time, SAN is many times superior to it in all respects. Due to its higher rigidity, printed models or details can withstand higher short-term shock loads, making SAN filament an ideal material for the manufacture of gears, worm gears and other mechanisms with high stress on the parts.
Parts made of SAN filament can be used in places where the operating temperature reaches +80°C (while filament can withstand a short-term increase in operating temperature up to +105°C).
A distinctive feature of this filament is its transparency. A part printed using SAN filament is capable of transmitting up to 92% of light (while ordinary window glass transmits up to 99% of light).
