TMC2209 driver board, BigTreeTech & TwoTrees

. The TMC2209 driver control board is designed to maximize the control of a two-phase stepper motor. Running a stepper motor with a pitch division of 1/256 using the TMC2209 driver will make your 3D printer as quiet as possible. Also using the TMC2209 driver makes the motor step as accurate and smooth as possible without jerks and skipped steps, which will significantly affect the quality of 3D printer.

BigTreeTech's TMC2209 driver chip is located on the bottom of the board, with the heatsink mounted on the PCB on top. This is done due to the fact that it is at the bottom where the chip heats up the most. Vref is adjusted through a hole in the PCB or by firmware when the UART is enabled.

Application of TMC2209 driver

At the moment, many companies are using TMC2209 drivers in their 3D printers. Drivers from manufacturers such as BigTreeTech and TwoTrees are often used as a 3D printer upgrade by its owners. Doing so is quite simple, as BigTreeTech's TMC2209 driver TMC2209 is compatible with the OEM stepper motor drivers on 3D printers, and is free to take their place. The TMC2209 driver can be adjusted manually by making appropriate changes to the firmware.

Driver power supply

. The TMC2209 stepper motor driver is DC powered with voltages ranging from 4.5V to 28V. The voltage from the driver is directly supplied to the stepper motor, so you can do without additional power supply to the stepper motor. In 3D printers the TMC2209 driver is usually powered by the motherboard, in other devices we recommend using additional power supplies.
